Thought Provocation & Discussion Fodder

Ran across this at Christianity Today's Out Of Ur website, Shane Claiborne on the subject of hell. It reminded me of articles I read there last year from Brian McLaren on the subject. They were kind enough to link to those articles as well. You can read them here and here. What are your thoughts on their thoughts concerning heaven and hell? Brave enough to chime in?

  • Great read. Indeed, we are becoming a 'walled' and secured society. Many people live in fear. I help them to address their fears with sophisticated security and alarm systems. Yet even the best designed systems are prone to failure. And when the systems fail, people panic and pay me even more money to quickly lock them back up inside their homes and businesses! [Perfect] love casts out all fear. Love is powerful. Lou Holtz, the great coach of ND used to say that people who felt loved and a sense of belonging could go out and accomplish and/or overcome anything. The problem isn’t the fear of hell or any other fear, it’s the lack of love.
