Richard Johnson grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age. He graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois, and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his medical residency at Dartmouth and then served as a staff surgeon with Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Nashua, NH from 1978-2004. At present, he works part-time and serves on the national board of the Christian Medical and Dental Association, and the board of the Nathan Project.
Richard married Kristen in 1968. They have three daughters and seven grandchildren. Richard and Kristen have been on several short-term mission trips and are active in marriage mentoring in the church, CMDA and Intimacy Weekends.
